Florida

Florida is more than just the sunshine state and it offers more than sandy beaches and oranges. There are 9.7 million acres of farmland and 47,400 farms in the state, with the average farm size being 204 acres. Agriculture provides over $7.8 billion of revenue to the state, with around $1.5 billion of that being derived from dairy and livestock. Additionally, there are nearly 1.7 million head of cattle in the state, ranking 10th in beef cow production and 18th in total cattle in January 2021.

While it is great to see that the agricultural industry in Florida is thriving, we mustn't loose sight of the importance of regenerative and responsible farming and supporting our local farmers who are often driven out by larger corporations. Supporting the local economy is how we win!
