New Mexico

Agriculture isn't typically the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about New Mexico, but looking closer, this state offers much more than beautiful, sprawling desert. New Mexico is home to nearly 25,000 farms, a number that has increased by over 4,000 farms since 2007. These farms operate across 40 million acres, with permanent pasture and rangeland making up a staggering 36.1 million acres, allowing plenty of room for the state's 1.3 million cattle to graze naturally. The state is also a major producer of hay and alfalfa (a critical food source for livestock where foliage is scare) producing around 1.63 million tons per year.

Supporting locally owned, regenerative farms will help to continue the growth of agriculture, contributing towards the nutritional independence of the population and growth of the local economy. Farm to table is how we win!
